Affordable Housing, Land and Development
Affordable housing includes social rented, affordable rented and intermediate housing, provided to specified eligible households whose needs are not met by the market. It can be a new-build property or a private sector property that has been purchased for use as an affordable home.
What is the sector worth?
The sector is currently worth £11.4 Billion with recent boosts in funding and further pressure to increase the value to 13.4 Billion per annum.
Where do we come in?
Whilst Housing Associations are well funded and do have some internal capacity for new build development, a documented bottleneck is the supply of suitable sites for affordable housing. Also, the provision of suitable construction contractors to build out any new sites is a frustration. Oxygen Projects is able to take knowledge, skill and experience from the private sector and dovetail with the public sector (Housing Associations and Local Authorities) to supply suitable land opportunities and relevant build packages.
